NEW BIBLE STUDY - PROPHETS We will be starting another Bible Study Program in January and have found we have space for more participants in our evening session. It is entitled “Prophets” and we will be studying the prophets Hosea, Jonah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Haggai and Malachi, New Testament and modern prophets. We start this ten week study on January 12th and should finish on March 30th, unless we have a snow day. The time is 7:00 to 8:30 PM. AID FOR FRIENDS Aid for Friends is in need of a Volunteer Evaluator for Delaware County to assess the needs of individuals who would like to receive meals. This task involves receiving referrals and visiting the referred person in their home to assess their needs, then either approving or rejecting their eligibility to become an AFF client/friend based on our criteria. You can do the assessments on your own schedule. We provide training, and Aid for Friends staff is always available to you. Also you pick the area or township that you feel comfortable serving. This volunteer position is critical to our ability to serve those in dire need in Delaware County. HELP DOCUMENT CATHOLIC HISTORY With the endorsement of Archbishop Chaput, History Making Productions (HMP) is producing a series called Urban Trinity: The Story of Catholic Philadelphia which will be broadcast on our local ABC affiliate during the week of the World Meeting of Families - Philadelphia.
HMP is interested in identifying and possibly using photographs and home movies that might include any of the following: Archbishop Prendergast, Cardinals Dougherty, O’Hara, Krol; Pope John Paul II’s visit to Philadelphia in 1979; sacred ceremonies including celebrations of a Mass, baptisms, confirmations, weddings, funerals; ethnic and community festivals and celebrations of Saints; Catholic community events involving senior citizens, Catholic Youth Organizations; images of well-known Catholic Philadelphians; and related materials.
