LENTEN SERIES On three Wednesday evenings in Lent (February 25, March 4 & March 11), Father Joe Serano will give three presentations on the recent apostolic letter by Pope Francis. Each evening, there will be a short introduction, followed by a closer look at some of the key passages in the Document (handouts will be provided) and then time for comments and discussion. While it’s impossible to summarize the Pope’s text in a few words, the title comes close: “The Joy of the Gospel”. As many commentators have noted about the almost two years of this papacy, for Francis the heart of the matter is to highlight God’s mercy and the breadth of God’s very-welcoming arms - both of which make the Gospel GOOD news and so a source of JOY that is be SHARED. Do join us at 7 PM.
Father Joe Serano is a Norbertine from Daylesford Abbey. For twenty-five years he taught theology at St. Joseph University. He presently ministers at the Abbey, where he teaches in their Spirituality Center while he serves as community treasurer. He is also on the Board of Bethesda Project, which works with the homeless in the City.
